ANDRES ESCOBAR
With an impressive career spanning more than twenty years, Andres Escobar has become one of the interior design industry’s most prolific talents. Mr. Escobar has lent his expertise to some of the most high-profile corporate, retail, restaurant, hospitality, airport, and residential projects throughout the world. With a distinct sensitivity to each individual project and each client’s specific vision at the forefront of the design process, Mr. Escobar’s work has received some of the design industry’s most prestigious and coveted accolades and awards.
Born and raised in Colombia, Mr. Escobar moved to Montreal to pursue a degree in engineering. However, the designer soon found that his passion lay in the beauty of aesthetics and interior design and he quickly changed his major. Graduating with honours from Dawson’s College, Mr. Escobar began his career working with some of Montreal’s top design firms. After ten years in the field, Escobar decided to capitalize on his experience and talents and start his own venture. He founded the now famed Andres Escobar & Associates in 1989, which has quickly became one of the city’s most prolific and recognized design firms after achieving media coverage and rave reviews for his work in Montreal as well as New York on such projects as: The Guess? Flagship Store, top shopping malls, and various extremely successful residential projects.
Andres Escobar’s most recent projects are: the famed New York Times building, Manhattan condo projects The District (111 Fulton) and Harsen House, the first LEED certified project in the Upper West side: The Corner (200 W 72nd Street), Z Hotel (Long Island City) and Restaurant Duo at 72nd and Madison. Mr. Escobar is currently working on several residential and hospitality projects in New York with top architects such as Karl Fischer, DeWitt Tishman, BKSK, Thomas Phifer and Partners, Greenberg Farrow, Gertler & Wenke, Thomas O’Hara, Gene Kaufman/ Gwathmay Siegel, Goldstein Hill & West, Gruzen Samton, Costas Kondylis, James Scoth, Marco Piva, Arcop Milan, Robert Dupuch Paris, Tirant Associates Seychelles, Didier Dove Mauritius.
Today, the firm houses the industry’s top talents from around the world.
